We provide foundation designs for all types of buildings and other structures. Our expertise and understanding of ground conditions allows us to provided cost effective and buildable foundation solutions.

Superstructure Design 

We design all aspects of building superstructures from full structural frames to single openings in walls. We work with our clients to ensure that their aspirations with regards to structural layout are achieved. 

 

 

Structural Surveys 

We have extensive expertise in surveys on all types of buildings and have a particular expertise in subsidence problems. Please note that our structural reports are specialist investigation surveys. 

New Build - Residential, Commercial and Industrial

We provide structural and civil engineering designs for all types of residential, commercial and industrial buildings in all commonly used materials. We have a particular expertise in cost effective foundation solutions.

We can undertake all aspects of the structural design for new buildings which typically include

Surveys  

We regularly carry out detailed structural surveys with a particular specialism in subsidence. If you are concerned about cracks in your house or commercial premises we can investigate the cause and provide solutions. We also carry out surveys to determine loading such as for solar panel installations.

Please note we concentrate on detailed reports and do not offer standard structural reports for house purchases other than investigating where a specific problem has been highlighted by a surveyor.

House Extensions and Alterations 

We provide calculations for beams over new openings in houses and commercial premises together with beam designs to access extensions or where the internal layout is being rearranged. From a single beam to multiple beams and associated supports we can provide the solutions and calculations.

We generally work from Architect's drawings although for minor alterations such as a wall removal do not need such drawings.

Retaining Walls 

We design retaining walls in all type of materials and have a particular expertise in this type of design. There are numerous types of retaining wall available and as necessary we will discuss the options for appropriate retaining wall wall taking into account ground conditions and height of wall. 

Refurbishments and Alterations 

We work on all types of extensions and alterations to residential and commercial building. It doesn't matter whether the extension is on top or to the side we can design it. Similaly it doesn't matter how much alteration you are carrying out we can provide a suitable structural solution. 

Timber Hoardings 

We design temporary timber hoardings for construction sites. We design both "post in the ground" and kentledge type hoardings.

  • Do you provide fixed fee quotations?
    Yes we do. We will provide a fee for a clearly defined extent of work.
  • Do you provide structural design for all types of buildings and structures?
    We design in concrete, masonry, steel and timber for all types of buildings and other structures such as silos.
  • Do you design high rise buildings ?
    We limit our projects to designs not exceeding five storeys.
  • Do you design beams for house alterations?
    Yes we do. We work from your Architect's drawings and provide all necessary calculations for Building Regulations approval. For a single opening or small extent of work we can provide calculations with Architect's drawings. 
  • Can you attend site to discuss structural proposals or feasibility?
    Yes we can. There is a small charge if the project does not proceed otherwise the cost is included in the design fee. Please note that there are geographical limitations for the site visits for smaller projects as the cost of travelling to some locations can become uncompetitive from a fee perspective.   • Do you design all types of retaining walls?
    Yes we design all types of retainage walls except sheet piled walls and proprietary retaining wall types.
  • Can you design foundations for pre fabricated buildings or items of plant?
    Yes, we just need to be provided with the loads to be applied to the foundations.
  • Can you assess my roof for a solar panel installation?
    Yes we inspect the roof structure and assess the loading implications.
